Snorkeling experience in the Florida Keys

The Florida Keys are one of the most visited spots in the United States of America, especially for those sea lovers out there; it’s not a surprise that it’s a major tourist attraction. I mean why wouldn’t millions of people visit this one location every year, maybe because it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world with tons of things to do, it’s the only place in the continent of North America that has a living coral reef. Which is a main reason why it’s also one of the most visited spots in the U.S.A, can’t find a place like this anywhere else in the country.

Because of its many islands and large sea space, it leaves room for many activities and events. Snorkeling is one of the major things to do in Key West, and almost everyone that visits there participates, it’s a must do while touring there.

It’s really a once in a life time experience, but after you go once, I’m sure you’ll visit again and snorkel some more! Imagine sailing on a luxury catamaran over the beautiful open seas of the Florida Keys, with a window on the bottom of the boat showing you the aquatic life below in crystal clear view while your reach your destination, the living coral reef of the keys.

Suiting up as you put your mask on, the tour guides would instruct you how to put on the swim suit. What I suggest is purchasing an underwater camera so you can record the whole experience; I mean you’re going to want to show all your friends how much fun you had and what kind of spectacular sea life you saw, the whole experience is worth saving. And around this time, summertime, the waters will be nice and warm, making it pretty unnecessary for a wetsuit, depends on your tolerance to temperature of course, but for the most part it’s just lovely.

Depending on the season, you’ll see different types of sea life in the water, usually around this time, summertime, bigger fish head out to the deeper sections for the keys to get to cooler waters, but there still is plenty to see. There is such a wide variety of sea life to see when you go snorkeling in the Florida Keys it’s ridiculous. The fish you can always count on being there in the droves are mangrove snappers and all kinds of colorful ornamental fishes, by the reef you can see colorful yellow grunts, and the famous angel fish. You’ll also catch urchins and sand dollars camouflaging into the sand, I know they may look like souvenirs, but they should be left alone at all times.

But the reef isn’t the only place in the keys that’s great for snorkeling; the sea grass areas in Key West are also a hot spot for snorkelers, also booming with sea life. Many forms of life like turtles, several types of fishes, and you might even occasionally see a nurse shark around, but don’t worry! They don’t eat humans. Snorkeling in the Keys is truly an experience worth experiencing, so if you’re ever thinking about going to the Keys you should absolutely go for a snorkel.
